Jakarta (ANTARA) – Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono has said he believes the policy of fiscal refocusing to help manage COVID-19 will not affect the interests of the national community of marine and fishing.
“My instruction is clear that the interest of the people will not be disturbed,” he said in a meeting with House Committee IV here on Monday.
According to the official website of the Chamber, the evaluation of the financial statements of the ministry for the fiscal year 2020, the evaluation of the activities in 2021, as well as the proposal of activities for the fiscal year 2022 were discussed during the meeting. .
The ministry’s budget ceiling has been reduced from 6.5 trillion rupees to 4.75 billion rupees due to the government’s fourth attempt at fiscal realignment, he said.

From the budget, the ministry will allocate 1,200 billion rupees for marine and fisheries management programs and 113.1 billion rupees for value-added and competitiveness programs in the fishing industry, he added.
In addition, Rp 68.2 will be used for quality environment programs, Rp 253.8 billion for vocational education and training programs and Rp 55.4 billion for research and innovation programs. in science and technology, he informed.
The remaining budget is for management support programs, such as employee salaries and operational costs, he added.
“I urge that programs of community interest be implemented. I am open to any discussion concerning the attempt to refocus,” said the minister.
The ministry’s budget absorption achievement reached 2.67 trillion rupees, or 56.36%, as of August 19, 2021; however, the achievement can reach 64.58% if it includes the current contract, he added.
“We will continue to maximize our budgetary absorption until the end of 2021,” added Trenggono. (
