PANJIM: The Trinamool Congress (TMC) in its quest to impose the current BJP government in the state, has accelerated in the 40 constituencies. More than 30 TMC leaders as well as more than 450 volunteers have so far distributed the “People’s Indictment Cards” to more than 15,000 people.

The TMC would apparently launch a door-to-door campaign and reach out to every household in Pernem. In the northernmost talukas, too, the strategy would be to understand people’s problems and devise specific solutions.

In its advocacy work, Goa TMC has sought to bring justice to all, especially the Bahujan Samaj.

It all started with former tennis player Leander Paes, who contacted his fellow citizens in Assolna, Velim and Tollecanto. He freely mingled with young and old alike and made a point of listening to them on various issues. He assured to resolve their grievances and start a fierce fight. In particular, Paes addressed the issue of traditional fishermen, in particular the issues of bull trawl, LED fishing and the depletion of local fish catches by fishermen from neighboring states. Paes also attended local football matches and mingled with future sportsmen and sports fans.

Kanta Gaude, prominent Goa TMC frontman, a popular folk artist and Goa Konkani Academy vice president, has launched his door-to-door campaign in Priol.

In the coastal belt of North Goa, Paes met fishermen, small traders, taxi operators and others in Calangute.

Goa’s psychiatrist, Francis De Tuem, met the people of Aldona and told them, “Today here (in Aldona) people are basically lagging behind. People complained about basic infrastructure, electricity, water problems and other basic problems. It’s time to give the people of Goa what they deserve the best.
