Woman arrested for attempted murder after stabbing pensioner

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after an 84-year-old man was stabbed at his home in Coventry on Monday June 7th.
Police were called to the scene on Three Spiers Avenue in Radford around 12 noon.
The victim was taken to hospital with stab wounds in the stomach and is believed to be in serious condition.
A 38-year-old woman is in police custody after being arrested for attempted murder and assaulting a police officer.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating after an elderly man was stabbed at his home in Coventry. This happened around noon yesterday (June 7) at Three Spiers Avenue.
“The 84-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his abdomen and remains in serious but stable condition.
âA 38-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault on a police officer. She is currently in police custody.
Fortunately, incidents of this nature are extremely rare, but we understand the concern and concern they cause.
âWe are examining the scene, talking to potential witnesses and looking for CCTV to try to establish what happened and why.

A spokesperson for the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to report a stabbing on Three Spiers Avenue at 12:33 pm An ambulance, paramedic and car Warwickshire and Northamptonshire air ambulance intensive care attended the scene.
âWhen we arrived, we discovered a patient, a male, who was treated for serious injuries before being taken to hospital.
“The doctor in the intensive care car traveled with the patient to help him continue the treatment en route to the hospital.”
